Roofcamp 11 Hosts Philippine Developer Preview Of Windows Phone 7
Roofcamp 11 tonight was all about Windows Phone 7 as a special developer preview took place at the Microsoft Philippines offices in Makati.
Around 50 guests were introduced to the event's key speakers who presented the aesthetics and technical developments of the mobile software. Norbert Aquende talked about the aesthetics of Windows Phone 7 and how typography and minimalism was played in the Philosophy of Metro to user interface experience. Rodney Jao enlightened developers with his demo on transmuting technopreneurship ideas to mobile apps in Silverlight. A demo of a mobile game app was also introduced to emphasize creativity and ease developers will be experiencing in using Silverlight and XNA for game development.
Regional Platform Strategy Head for Asia and Pacific Chris Levanes dropped in from a previous developers' engagement to say hello and shared his enthusiasm on the availability of Windows Phone 7 in smartphones in the market soon.
Guests were in for a surprise with giveaways and a hearty dinner during the break, and a raffle for major prizes ensued courtesy of sponsors Smart and Microsoft Philippines.
