WebGeek PH celebrates 1st anniversary

WebGeek PH, an interactive online community of Filipino web enthusiasts, had their one-year anniversary at the G2iX Techbar, Exist Software Labs in Ortigas Center, Pasig on August 7th, 2010.

Hosted by John Arce, founder of the online community, he was left almost speechless perhaps of the overwhelming response of more than 100 community members and guests who graced the event. John also expressed his gratitude to Evan Yucoco, whom he shared hosting duties.

Here's John giving his heartfelt speech.

A few of the movers and shakers of the growing Filipino tech community gave words of inspiration and extended their well wishes to WebGeek PH: Brian Tan Seng of 98Labs Inc. and Philippine Tech Startups Group, Macel Legaspi of Exist and G2iX, Alezandra Nicolas, a Technology Evangelist, Sam Pigott of SourcePad, Chin Hin Low of Philabs and SR Capital Holdings Inc., and Michael Stephenson of Ubertor.

Technology Evangelism is.

Mike got the crowd up and committing on a pledge here:

This was right after everyone got their fill of pizzas, beer and soda and freebies like notepads, ballpens and official t-shirts. Bam Amor was the lucky recipient of the iPod Touch giveaway via a raffle using a true random number service.

A secret afterparty hosted by Microphone was held at the Izumi Bar, and Twitter followers were rewarded with ice-cold beer.
